Raymond's Letter to All of His Fans [Chinese and English Version]
By chance, I found these two images: a scan of the autographed photo and the letter that was sent to the fans who had written to Raymond. ~~~ A translation of the letter:
Hi,
I'm very glad to receive your letter. Thank you for your support, I will definitely continue to work hard.
A few months earlier I was busy filming TVB's series, "La Femme Desperado", so I haven't had the time to reply to your letter. Sorry! I'll give you one of my autographed pictures; hope that you'll like it. Please forgive me for replying late!
Currently, I am in Mainland filming. If you would like to know the latest news of mine, you can visit these websites:

This year, there'll be even more good series for you, I promise!
Wishing you a Happy New Year! ~~~ A word of support for Raymond: I know that Raymond works close to twenty hours a day, and that he only gets two hours of sleep (minus the dozing off during his make-up sessions, etc.), and that even if he had the time to read letters, he wouldn¡¦t have the time to reply. This poor guy doesn't get holidays, you know. He works on New Year's, on his birthday, on Christmas, when he's sick, and even if he breaks his leg or something and can't walk, he still has to show up and film. I reckon the only way he'd get out of filming and not get into trouble is to pretend to be in a coma. Just kidding. Anyways, the very few days he gets to take off during the year, I'd expect that he devote to sleeping, or spending with his family and friends. I know some people might think that he should just stay at home and read the fan mail, but he gets heaps of that, so many letters that he'll probably never be able to go through them all. Also, fans matter, but you mustn't forget, although the fans know him well, he doesn't know the fans. So even if he doesn't reply to you guys personally, I hope you know that he means well, anyway, and not be angry or anything.
A word of support for the fans: But luckily, I haven¡¦t seen anyone pissed off at Raymond (yet). But if someone appears to be disappointed that the letter wasn¡¦t from Raymond, I hope that the others can be a bit more understanding. I mean, how happy would you be if you received a letter that was from Raymond? But how disappointed would you be when you open the envelope and find that is just a standard letter sent to all the fans and that there was a high chance that Raymond hadn't even dictated the letter, let alone typed it himself? I know I¡¦d be very disappointed ¡K I'm sure everyone knows how much work Raymond has to do and how tired he gets by the end of each day, but they have a right to sulk, and do not deserve to be "attacked" just because they are doing so. We all know deep down that someone who is willing to devote his/her time to write a letter to Raymond and to even come these forums is a true fan. ^^
And a word of comfort to the letter-writer-ers: So there is a high chance that Raymond has never even set eyes on this letter, but what was in this letter was probably what Raymond would've said anyway. And just how do you know that he had never seen this letter? Perhaps he had suggested for a letter to be sent to the fans, or perhaps even his manager had suggested it, and then perhaps they had brainstormed some ideas of what to write together. Raymond has always been nice to his fans and he makes an effort to please them, and his manager, of course, wouldn't want his fans thinking he's the same as some of those posh stars that don't give a thing about fans. Anyways, I'd like to believe that Raymond did contribute to this letter. And that the signature is authentic.
BTW, anyone notice the smudge of green ink on his lip?

Where did you get this?
Is it Raymond reply that fans in English or Chinese?
Raymond replied to his fans in Chinese. I translated that letter. I'll get Michael to post up the scan of the letter too, because I don't know how to do it here.
Well. Thanks for your reply.
Is that Raymond reply the letter to Michael?
No, not Michael. A friend of mine who wishes to remain anonymous.
